The CAD file that was used to import the data into a GIS environment can be found on the Quinte Conservation file server (\\vmfile\Company\Technical\Floodplain Mapping\Moira River CAD Floodline Drawings\401toFoxboro2yearOBSERVED_revised.dwg). The base data in this file, along with the 100 year floodline in this drawing, comes from the original 1980s FDRP mapping for the Moira River Conservation Authority. |

<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><P><SPAN>The delineated floodlines in this dataset were derived from the original Moira River Conservation Authority Flood Damage Reduction Program (FDRP) mapping from the 1980s. CAD files from these drawings were obtained by Quinte Conservation and the 2 and 10 year floodlines were superimposed in the drawings under the direction of Quinte Conservation Engineering staff. The orginal data and CAD files were drawn using NAD27. In order to transfer the data to a GIS environment the geographic coordinate system was defined as NAD27 for the .DWG file and then transformed to NAD83 UTM ZONE 18N using the North American Datum Conversion Utility (NADCON) transformation algorithm. This was accomplished using the utilities in ArcGIS.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV> |
